Brownies, Brownies where are you?

I just love that song and the kids love it too. Right now, Brownies are enjoying their summer break and so are the owls.

Note to me: Crafty Owl wants to meet on a Monday in August to do planning. Aug 7 is long weekend though.

Favourite resource materials – the Penny Whistle Books by Meredith Brokaw.

Why I love these books: Say you want to do a mystery party (or in my case, a Mystery Camp) , the Birthday party book has everything you need from the games to play, the crafts to do, the menu, the activities. Wowee!

I currently own the Penny Whistle Birthday Party Book and the Any Day is a Holiday Party Book. Both are out of print but if you find one at a yard sale, pay the people whatever they want!

Fairweather Cyclist

I’ve been doing a lot of reading about bicycle commuting lately and so many of the sites I’ve been to really encourage biking to work, even in bad weather. I’ll admit that I’m a fair weather biker and the decision to bike or drive to work is made as I lie in bed and listen to the forecast.

Problem 1 – for the most part the weather guy is wrong. “Risk of thunder storms”… I drive to and from work with my arm out the window in the sunny weather.

Problem 2 – right around 4:30 (when I’m finished work) we tend to get really frightening thunder and lightening storms.

Anyone else have trouble with that?

My current favourite site: www.runmuki.com/commute/ Paul Dorn’s Bike Commuting Trips.
